Sarees, Stories & Solidarity – Bhubaneswar Reads Together second public circle on 6th and 7th December 2025

Sarees, Stories & Solidarity Bhubaneswar Reads Together – Focusing on Urban Women’s Mental Wellness Bhubaneswar Reads Together originates from The Book Turf. The second public reading circle  the Saree Readathon places the spotlight on urban women, their wellness, and their visibility. Sarees are more than fabric  they are memory, continuity, and identity. Books are more than pages  they are reflection, resilience, and renewal. Together, sarees and stories become a bridge: connecting women across communities, generations, and workplaces.

Why This Matters

  • Urban women carry invisible burdens  balancing careers, families, and societal expectations.
  • Reading circles offer a pause, a ritual of calm, and a shared language of wellness.
  • Saree circles add pride, visibility, and solidarity, reminding us that tradition can be a source of strength.

The Movement

  • Form your reading circle in corporates, housing communities, schools, or kitty groups.
  • Read together for 20 minutes daily as part of the 21‑day challenge.
  • Share your reflections, videos, and progress with info@thebookturf.com or whatsapp 99372 60662  with the heading Bhubaneswar Reads Together to be featured on our channel and website.

The First Chapter – Photo Gallery

Originated at The Book Turf Saree Readathon, the second public circle of Bhubaneswar Reads Together, dedicated to urban women’s wellness. On 6th December, Dr. Namrita Chahal of Asha Wellness, our movement partner, anchored the Saree Readathon circle at The Book Turf Library. This gathering marked the movement coming home to founder ground of Bhubaneswar Reads Together movement, bringing sarees and books together as symbols of continuity, reflection, and resilience. Soon after,Mrs. Sabita Patnaik Ma’am, story teller and visionary  gracefully anchored the Royal Lagoon Literary & Cultural Evening, weaving sarees, stories, and community pride into the movement. Alongside these circles, reflections came in from Angul, and even individuals travelling sent their photos to keep the rhythm alive. Together, these efforts brought us close to 100 women in the first chapter of Sarees, Stories & Solidarity  each one adding her voice, her presence, and her story to Bhubaneswar Reads Together. We gratefully acknowledge the active support of Asha Wellness, Emoha L&D whose presence strengthened this collective effort. We thank Bocca Books for their inputs and RCM and NHRd for their support.
